Topic:
As a long-time proponent of the Democratization of SEO, Keith Goode has spent a good portion of his career with companies like Dell, seoClarity, and IBM teaching the principles of Search Experience Optimization, a user-focused philosophy that eschews the notion of SEO as an afterthought and embraces responsibility for the totality of the user’s experience through the Buyer’s Journey. In this session, he’ll discuss his efforts around Decisions Through Data, an effort at IBM to:
- Empower all marketers by giving them unlimited access to as much data as possible from as many sources as possible
- Teach them how to think critically about that data, to understand how it applies to them and their campaigns, and to ask the right questions in order to understand the story being told
- Encourage them to apply those learnings in order to iterate toward better decisions over time.
Attendees should be able to leave this session with an understanding of how and how often to share data, how to think about a variety of data points, and how to make better decisions from them.
Keith Goode has over 10 years of experience in In-house SEO, working with some of Austin’s top start-up companies, including HomeAway and SpareFoot, and global powerhouses, such as AMD and Dell. More recently, he was the Chief SEO Evangelist for seoClarity, where he provided on-going data-based insights into industry best practices, analysis and strategy.
Currently, Keith is the Sr. SEO Strategist for IBM, SecurityIntelligence; providing internal training for marketing, content, and technology teams; and helping spread SEO best practices throughout the organization.
He has presented at Pubcon Pro, SMX West, Digital Summit, Houston I/S, SearchHOU, and various internal conferences for seoClarity and IBM.
